After a wonderful second edition of the Aficionado Award in 2024, with great candidates and an amazing laureate, the Aficionado Award jury have decided to extend the deadline for the 2025 edition in order to allow in more submissions.
The jury is looking to identify and celebrate unique initiatives in the publishing world: collaborations between people based in different countries or between different sectors within the industry, say a new literary magazine, an agency scouting an unknown part of our world, a publishing house focused on underrepresented writing, an inspiring marketing campaign or tool, a literary or editorial podcast or just an amazingly beautiful new edition of some outstanding poetry... Whatever makes us think about our business and creates a debate is welcome.
Submitters should include a paragraph about why their nomination is exciting and novel and perhaps a weblink to the project nominated.
Suggestions can be sent to mail@aficionadoaward.com until February 28th, 2025.
The new preliminary jury consisting of Laurence Laluyaux, Camilla Cottafavi and Peter van der Zwaag will then chose the three shortlist candidates who will present their projects at the Turin Book Fair on Wednesday May 14th, so make sure you mark the wonderful Turin Book Fair (May 15-19 ) in your agenda! The Aficionado Award is a collaboration between the Frankfurt Book Fair and the Salone Internazionale del Libro di Torino.
