Sellerio announces celebrations for the Andrea Camilleri (1925-2019) centenary

Events include a tribute at the Salone Internazionale del Libro

With over 31 million copies of his books sold in Italy, translations in more than 40 languages, and a TV adaptation of his Montalbano series that captivated over 1.2 billion viewers, Andrea Camilleri's career is a unique and extraordinary phenomenon in the Italian publishing scene.

His success as a writer at the age of 70 is a testament to his talent and dedication. To honor this iconic Sicilian writer, a sensational program of events has been designed, starting with the republication by Sellerio of La forma dell’acqua and La rivoluzione della luna, the first two volumes of a new collection of twelve, with cover designs by Lorenzo Mattotti.

The Fondo Andrea Camilleri Ets, in significant collaboration with private and public institutions, have organized countless initiatives, including events in Italy and abroad.

A tribute to Andrea Camilleri will also occur at the Salone Internazionale del Libro di Torino (May 15-19). To honour the author’s international success – his works are translated into over 40 languages - the Camilleri nel Mondo project has designed a series of round tables and symposiums worldwide, in the Italian Cultural Institutes of Addis Ababa, Algiers, Athens, Beijing, Berlin, Cologne, Freiburg, Hamburg, Krakow, Lyon, Madrid, Miami, New York, Oslo, Prague, Rio de Janeiro, Singapore, Sofia and Warsaw.
