Fondata da Tommaso e Sante Avagliano, Marlin prende il nome dal mitico pescespada che Hemingway amava pescare al largo di Cuba, descritto nel romanzo Il vecchio e il mare. Il lavoro iniziato nei primi anni ’80 con la Avagliano editore, continua con passione confortato dal rigore qualitativo delle scelte e dalla raffinatezza della grafica. I libri che Marlin pubblica si diramano in collane di narrativa moderna e contemporanea, saggistica storica, attualità sociale e politica, memorialistica.
Founded by Tommaso and Sante Avagliano, Marlin takes its name from the mythical swordfish that Hemingway loved to fish off the coast of Cuba, described in the novel The old man and the sea. The activity started in the early 1980s with Avagliano publisher, continues with passion, comforted by the qualitative rigor of the choices and the refinement of the graphics. The books that Marlin publishes branch off into series of modern and contemporary fiction, historical non-fiction, social and political current affairs, memorials. This year the Avagliano are celebrating forty years of publishing activity.
