Which categories can apply for benefits?

Benefits are provided for people who meet the requirements in the list below.

- Civilian invalids of age with certified disability of 67% or more

- Civilian invalids who are minors

- Citizens with an accompanying allowance

- Citizens with certification pursuant to Law 104/1992, Art 3 paragraph 3

- Civilian blind persons

- Civil deaf

- Invalids and disabled pursuant to Law 222/1984

- Invalids at work with certified disability greater than 35%

- Disabled at work or entitled to personal and continuous care allowance or with impairment of psychophysical integrity

- Unfit for work (pursuant to Law 379/1955, Presidential Decree 73/92 and Presidential Decree 171/2011) and disabled (pursuant to Law 274/1991, Art. 13 and Law 335/1995, Art. 2)

- Citizens holding ordinary and war privilege treatments

The Priority Access Pass allows you to:

- use the fast lane at entrances A, C and D 

- skip the queue at the info points

- receive assistance during the exhibition experience

- access the quiet areas

- skip the queue for the toilets

- skip the queue for cash desks at bars, restaurants and street food outlets

- skip the queue for access to the event/convention halls (please note: subject to availability of reserved seats).

The reduced ticket at 11€ is dedicated to the person with disabilities. It will be possible to have one free ticket for an accompanying person.

The Priority Access Pass is for the person with disabilities. It will only be possible to have one Priority Access Pass for any accompanying person, valid only if the accompanying person is in the presence of the person with a disability.

How does one apply for the benefits?

Pre-registration on the site is a necessary condition to enable us to provide facilitated services for people with disabilities.

At this stage we do not ask for any document proving the disability, but for information that allows us to correctly size the service, the experience at the show and organise the service in the best possible way.

Near the entrances there will be staff in uniform or wearing the International Book Fair bib ready to assist you and direct you to the reserved aisle for access to the Priority Access Counters.

The Priority Access Counters can be accessed via the dedicated lane not only by the person with a disability and any accompanying person, but by the entire family. 
At the Priority Access Cashier it is possible to:

  • purchase the reduced ticket reserved for persons with disabilities
  • receive a complimentary ticket for any accompanying person or companion
  • purchase tickets for the remaining group or family members
  • collect the Priority Access Pass reserved for the person with a disability and the accompanying person

What is the Priority Access Pass?

The Priority Access Pass is a type of pass (with the same format as those reserved for staff and those working inside the fair) that allows you to:

  • use the fast lane at entrances A, C and D of the fair
  • skip the queue at the info points
  • receive assistance during the fair experience
  • access the quiet areas
  • skip the queue for the toilets
  • skip the queue for cash desks at bars, restaurants and street food outlets
  • skip the queue for access to the event/convention halls (please note: subject to availability of reserved seats).

 

Mobility within the Book Fair

A paper map of the pavilions, outdoor spaces and activity areas of the Salone will be available at the Priority Access Counters at entrances A, C and D.

All areas of the Book Fair are accessible without architectural barriers. All halls are located on the ground floor and lifts are available if necessary.

Please bear in mind that the area occupied is very large and extensive, with a high influx of visitors. The various car parks are located at different distances from the fairground entrances: please check in advance which one you choose to use.

Entrance A is located in the proximity of Via Nizza 294

Entrance C is located near Via Mattè Trucco 70 - Piazzale Oval

Entrance D is located in the proximity of Stazione FS Torino Lingotto and Metro stop Italia ‘61

Entrances A, C and D have Priority Entrance reserved for persons with disabilities and those who are accompagnying them.

Access to the Priority Entrance lane is identified by appropriate signage.

There are support staff at the entrances and in the exhibition area, recognisable by uniform, a white T-shirt or bib with the Salone del Libro logo.

By underground

Lingotto stop (ENTRANCE A and B)

It is 10 minutes from Porta Nuova station and 15 minutes from Porta Susa station. 

It is the suggested stop to reach Entrance A of the Book Fair.

The walk from the ‘Lingotto’ stop to entrance A has no architectural barriers and is flat.

Italia 61 stop (ENTRANCE D)

It is 10 minutes from Porta Nuova station and 15 minutes from Porta Susa station.

It is the suggested stop to reach entrance D of the Book Fair.

The route from the ‘Italia 61’ stop to Entrance D has no architectural barriers and is flat.

By taxi

When booking your ride, please specify your disability and any aids used.

Taxis have a preferential lane at the exhibition centre and can accompany participants near Entrance C in Via Mattè Trucco.

 

By private car

At the fairgrounds hosting the Book Fair, parking spaces are available for those entitled with a CUDE (Contrassegno Unico Disabili Europeo - Unique European Disabled Car Identification Card) displayed on the dashboard.

Those arriving from the Tangenziale Sud in Corso Unione Sovietica can drive along Corso Giambone in the direction of Corso Unità d'Italia and take the subway to the Piazza Piemonte roundabout from where they can access the Lingotto car parks in Via Mattè Trucco (entrance C).

Arriving in Via Nizza, there are also 2 underground car parks open to the public, with 4 parking sectors available, each with spaces reserved for people with disabilities, free of charge but not bookable. 

 

Quiet spaces

There are Quiet Spaces at two locations in the exhibition. These are areas dedicated to people with disabilities where they can rest and relax.

Only people with disabilities and accompanying persons with a priority pass have access. They are indicated by special signs. You can find them in the Visitors' Gallery (between Hall 2 and Hall 3) and in the Oval Gallery near the Indigo Hall.

Toilets

There are toilets equipped for people with disabilities and others with baby changing facilities in various parts of the fair.

People with a Priority Access Pass and one of their accompagnying persons have the possibility to skip the line. You can find them on the paper map of the exhibition.
