From Wednesday 14 to Friday 16 May, the Rights Centre opens its doors at the Lingotto Congress Centre. Over 500 international publishing professionals each year attend the area dedicated to the buying and selling of editorial and audiovisual rights expects.

Publishers, scouts, literary and film agencies and production houses will be able to discuss the most interesting global news and trends. Located just a few steps from the Salone del Libro area, the Rights Centre also offers international publishing professionals access to the most complete exhibition of Italian publishing production .

With the support of ITA, the Italian Trade Agency, the Rights Centre also offers a generous fellowship: 61 out of the 414 applications received from all over the world have been accepted. Fellows will take part in the professional activities of the Rights Centre while seizing the all the training opportunities offered by the fellowship. Thanks to the synergy between the Salone and the Film Commission, they will also be invited to visit the headquarters of the Torino Film Commission for an in-depth talk on the themes of audiovisual adaptations. The program also includes an event organized in partnership with CELA on translators as literary professionals.

The Aficionado Award

 

Promoted by Salone Internazionale del Libro di Torino and the Frankfurter Buchmesse, the award reaches its third edition in 2025. The international accolade, conceived and founded by Michael Gaeb, Tom Kraushaar, Rebecca Servadio and Aleksi Siltala, intends to reward the most original and stimulating editorial initiatives globally.

In 2023, the award went to Lola Shoneyin of Aké Arts and Festival (Nigeria), while the 2024 edition was won by the Brazilian poetry promotion initiative Circulo de Poemas. This year, the three shortlistees who will present their projects to an audience of publishing aficionados on the opening day of the Rights Centre are the independent publishing house Seagull (Calcutta), La disparition, (Marseille), an epistolary media about things that are disappearing, and the association of literature professionals zoraLIT (Berlin). The presentation ceremony of the finalists will be held as usual on the opening day of the Rights Centre, at the Lingotto Congress Centre on Wednesday 14 May at 5 pm.
